F G and Flying Animals: March 8

This week, we've continued to work on the alphabet.  We're still doing the alphabet song and we also started Ff and Gg.  We watched these videos for Ff and Gg and another one for Gg.  We made frogs and fish to practice Ff.  We also read the Rainbow Fish book.  We made goats and grapes to practice Gg.  You can practice identifying letters and making the sounds that they make at home.  So far, students should know Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, and Gg.
We have been reading another story about baby animals, called All Kinds of Kisses.  Students love to pretend to be the animals and give kisses.  They shout out Mommy! and Baby!
In the PYP, we have also been learning about animals that fly, like birds, bats and butterflies.  We watched this video about how caterpillars become butterflies.  We played along with the video and pretended to hatch from our shell, eat a leaf, build a cocoon, and and emerge as a butterfly.  We also watched this video about how birds fly|.  We also made a bird craft that can flap its wings.

We are also starting the number 11.  We are going to learn up to 20 this term.  Here's a video we watched for 11.

We started a matching worksheet in class on Friday.  For homework over the weekend, you can color it in and practice the words again.
