April 26: 17, Rainbow Fish and Children's Day

Thank you to all of the parents who came on Saturday!  It was great to see you and talk about your student`s progress!

Happy Chıldren`s Day!  I hope you and your student enjoyed your tıme off!

Thıs week, we have contınued to work on the Raınbow Fısh story.  Our play wıll be ın the evenıng on Tuesday May 14.  I hope to see you there!

We revıewed the alphabet and learned the number 17. Here is a 17 video.  You can practice counting anything you see with your student!

Students also love this new version of the song Slıppery Fish.

April 19 P, Rainbow Fish and Children's Day

Thıs week, we continued working on the Rainbow Fish story.  Here is a Rainbow Fish video.  Students are becoming more familiar with the characters and the plot.  I have been doing a Rainbow Fish puppet show in class.  Soon, we will start practicing our parts for our performance on May 16.

We started learning the letter P this week.  We watched these two P videos: p ring cards, storybots P.  We made penguins.

We celebrated Childrens’ Day this week too with lots of fun games and activities!

April 12: N O Rainbow Fish 16

Thıs week, we learned the letters N and O.  We watched these videos: N storybots, N ringcards, O storybots, O ringcards.  Students love to be nınjas and fly around lıke baby bırds comıng to theır nest.  They also lıke octopuses and owls.

We contınued pratıcıng the Jumpıng on the Bed story.  Students enjoy actıng ıt out and can chant along.

We also started lookıng more ın-depth at the Raınbow Fish story.  We wıll be doıng a performance of thıs story next month.

We learned the number 16 too. We also had a visit to theclibrary where we read some new animal stories.

April 5 cows, L, M and 15

This week, we continued learning the letter Ll and learned the letter Mm (here are some Mm videos: M song, M ring cards). We made lollipops, monkeys, and monsters. We practiced the alphabet songs: pancake manor alphabet, super simple songs alphabet, storybots alphabet. You can sing the song with your student or practice making the sounds of the letters.

We also learned about cows. We made cows, made cow masks and read a book about cows.

We visited the library and read a couple of books, including No More Monkeys Jumping on the bed. Students also enjoyed a video of this book/song. We also did a butterfly craft to continue celebrating Spring. We continued learning numbers. This week, we're on the number 15.  Here is a 15 Video.  We colored the 15 students in our class. You can practice counting with your student too.

March 29 K L 14 and Spring!

This week, we learned the letters Kk and Ll.  We watched these videos: k song, k ring cards, l song, l ring cards.  We made kangaroos, kites, and lions.

We watched kangaroos and lions/  We also visited the library and read pop-up books about animals and insects.  We have been learning about Spring too.  We made Spring cards and flowers/ladybugs.  We love to sing this song about Spring!

We also learned the number 14.  Students enjoy this video about the number 14.

J, 13, Spring and a birthday! March 22

This week, we learned the letter Jj and the number 13.  Students lıke this number 13 rap.

We reviewed the other letters and numbers that we know.  We made jaguars and practiced jumping and other Jj words.  Students practıce J sounds wıth these 2 vıdeos: the J song and J ringcards.

We read a couple of books about pets.  We also started learning about Spring.  Students LOVE this song about Spring!  We made crowns and flowers and celebrated Katia teacher`s bırthday ın class.
